This post comes to you from the great American state of New York, with our artist being none other than internationally known Creative Director, Gui Borchert. Chances are, if you’ve picked up a magazine in the passed few years, you’ve seen some of his ads for big names such as Coke, Dell, Nike and Puma. Gui has an incredible credentials list that includes speaking in conferences around the world, judging international competitions, having his work showcased at art galleries in places like Brazil and New York City, being internationally published in books and magazines, and winning a ton of awards just to top it all off. We’re happy to post such talent and vision here on Creative Tempest and hope you will share the same appreciation for great artwork that we do.

Patrick Monkel

This post comes to you all the way from Culemborg, The Netherlands, with our artist being none other than Patrick Monkel. Patrick is a freelance Graphic Designer and head of Monk Design. He makes it very clear that what drives him and his business, the thing that motivates him to do his best is simply passion, “Passion is the word for me when it comes to design. I love all kinds of design and (digital) art. In my daily work I try to keep evolving my style and am eager to learn about new things”. Graphic design is defined by a creative process in which a designer uses various visual forms of media in order to convey a specific message to a targeted audience. Graphic Design offers one the power to control how a person thinks by affecting how a person sees. Through his work, Liu Zheng gives us the opportunity to see through the eyes of a graphic designer; to see what he sees. We look at the world and can only see it through facts and figures, nouns, verbs and adjectives. However, Liu Zheng is not bound within these natural parameters. When he views the world, he sees it all as infinite possibility. Where we see boundary, he sees opportunity. Which is why he has been given a place in this community we love so much called Creative Tempest.

Pete Harrison (Aeiko)

Some artists create with pens, others a paint brush, and today many more with a computer, but Pete Harrison (Aeiko) is the only artist that renders his images with the deadly, but dazzling colored illumination of his Jedi light-saber. Each stroke he summons by the strength of the force smears beautiful streaks of light across his canvas, until the end result is a frame filled with flashes and flares that burst from the depths of a deep black galaxy.

(Weekly Story Theme: Deep Sea) It is difficult to always see the source of an artist’s inspiration, and with Alex Forster is no different, except that we know the source, its just hard to find. In the depths of the ocean lurks a creature mutable in both shape and color, a fantastic octopus that can transforms and mimic its surroundings. It is from this deep creature that Alex Forster must find inspiration for his changing, plastic images.

(Weekly Story Theme: Deep Sea) Most fish at the bottom of the ocean have lost all the bright vivid colors of their cousins, who dwell far above them. Except for one creature, Guilherme Marconi, a magnificent beast who has defied evolution to remain colored and patterned, even though it goes forever unnoticed in the blindness of the bottom of the ocean.

Perttu Murto

(Weekly Story Theme: Deep Sea) A translucent monster roams the depths of the ocean, prying on small fish, crabs and squid, all equally as alien in appearance. This predatory fish is known as, Perttu Murto, and in a magnificent display, when approaching for the attack, Perttu Mutro stuns its prey with a fascinating show of light and color generated from within its translucent form. While the prey is captured by the beauty, Perttu Mutro gobbles it up, and the light show ends. Deadly and beautiful is the art of Perttu Mutro.

Kasper Ledet

(Weekly Story Theme: Detective) The kidnapper’s note stains Detective Kasper Ledet’s face as he stands in front of the projector, which magnifies the madman’s scrawling up on the classroom wall. He points out to his students the violence of the criminal even in the letters he left behind. The note is from a man Kasper Ledet put behind bars, his first real case as a detective, one of many successes that led him through, danger, romance, an illustrious career and finally, in his retirement, to teaching. Kapser Ledet’s typography reveals someone, who has studied and understands the intricacies of letters and who had found out how to use them to effect great beauty.

However, despite his fame and renown, not even the most paranoid of criminals will know Stefan Chinof is there watching, waiting from them to slip up. For you see, Detective Stefan Chinof is a master of disguise, so much so that no one is really even sure what he really looks like underneath the makeup and prosthetics. Stefan Chinoff has fully develop a number of artistic styles, and seems to be great at anything he does.
