Jan Steinhilber is like a master thief, but instead of sneaking into places and taking things from where they belong, he sneaks into places and puts things where they don’t belong. Like leaving behind a token that says, “I’ve been here,” but without disrupting anything else, a master thief with a sense of humor. Jan combines slick design and photography into his works that all seem like they should be real, but can’t possibly be. Sneaking into our ordinary lives to add a dash of the unexpected.
